About Me

I'm Lee Uzziah, educational counselor, writer, and creator of Israel Dream Lab.

At 13, I didn't choose aliyah, but somewhat be grudgingly followed my parents to Jerusalem. Later, in my twenties, I found myself back in the US, after college, longing for my people. That's when I realized Israel felt more like home than anywhere else, not just because of the land, but because of the amazing people I didn't want to live without.

I hold a BFA in Photography and New Media and an MA in Educational Counseling, with advanced training in phototherapy and bibliotherapy. I've spent years inside the Israeli education system working with teens, families, and olim at every stage of the journey.

My Approach

Aliyah isn't for everyone, and I mean that. There are valid reasons to go, valid reasons to stay, and a lot of complicated feelings in between. My work isn't about convincing anyone. I aim to help you understand and articulate your own path in this regard.

The emotional side of aliyah touches identity, belonging, family dynamics, hope, grief, and courage, often all at once.

My work is built on:

  • Counseling expertise grounded in emotional regulation, resilience-building, and communication
  • Structured tools including phototherapy, bibliotherapy, guided journaling, and visual storyboarding
  • Practical clarity that helps families make decisions, prepare their children, and feel anchored during transition
  • Jewish connection that is warm, personal, and never pressured

Why I Created Israel Dream Lab

The tools on this site are the same ones I use in sessions with individuals and families in transition. I wanted to make them accessible as a guided DIY experience or a one-on-one session, as a way to support you emotionally for the aliyah journey, whatever stage you're at.

I want families to have something I never had: a structured, beautiful way to process the move  before, during, or years after.

Whether aliyah is years away, happening now, or if you already made the big move, you deserve support.

Who I Work With

  • Families considering aliyah, at any stage of the decision
  • Individuals and families who have made aliyah but need to rekindle the dream, or seek support adjusting
  • Parents navigating their children's emotional adjustment after the move
  • Teens who feel caught between two worlds
  • Israelis returning home after years abroad, re-learning how to be parents in Israel, and helping their children integrate in school
  • Anyone who wants a guided, structured way to process a big life transition
